I’ve been eagerly anticipating today for quite some time. When Carissa told me her wedding plans, I think I got a little obsessed with the idea of a backyard vineyard reception only 5 minutes from my home. I absolutely love photographing weddings in beautiful picturesque far off places – but I won’t lie, after spending multiple days every weekend traveling hours to reach said weddings, it’s a dream to photograph a wedding almost in your own backyard. And when that backyard reception includes a family owned vineyard?! Yes, I will be there. Carissa and Eric will be married today at St. Monica’s Church before heading to the family vineyard for fun and festivities. I wanted to share some absolutely breathtaking images from their fall engagement at the vineyard and surrounding property. If it looks like this on a dreary, overcast fall day I am kind of pinching myself at the thought of what it will look like in the golden summer sun setting on this hot July evening. This is one of those awesome, kind, attractive couples that make my job easy by being super sweet and romantic with one another. You can’t help but smile at their coy, playful presence. We started their shoot at Carissa’s Grandparent’s home with a walk down a little dirt road flanked in trees, the ground covered in leaves. As we started heading down the path toward the vineyard I was blown away by the scenic view of Camel’s Hump . It’s a little hazy and I believe there have been wildfires in Canada which may interfere with the view today, but man am I glad we captured this view at their engagement! After frolicking in the vineyard for a bit we walked the property taking advantage of a desolate, yet beautiful, cornfield – that view! Carissa’s father also operates a dairy farm so we stopped down to get some cute photos with the cows before ending our shoot deep in toasted grasses of a nearby field. I can’t wait to share their wedding!
