Kelly and Pat have an adorable home, with a beautiful garden, on Lake Champlain. When Kelly and I were discussing the engagement session I didn’t fully comprehend that the lakefront location belonging to Patrick’s family would actually take my breath away. It was like something out of a dream – a perfectly shaded and lush field opened up to dazzling lake waters, with a bright clear sky starting to get that pinkish sunset glow. We explored the beach area, frolicked in the field, found the most beautiful tree with sweeping willow like branches to cascade romantically around Kelly and Pat. If you know the exact name of the tree which resembles a willow, featured toward the bottom of this posting, please do share! Once the sun got a bit lower in the sky we ventured back to the lakefront for some stunning photos on the dock. Sometimes magic happens, well, I must be lucky because I can’t think of a single engagement session that has been anything less than magical! I really am so so lucky to photograph couples completely in love in locations such as this – and that light?! Kelly and Pat will be married today, the 4th of July, at Jay Peak. It was such a treat to go back through their engagement and be reminded of their beautiful love story as I prepare for the wedding.
